Behind the Lens

Everyone these days has a camera in their back pocket but I’ve been playing behind a lens since my grandfather gave me rolls and rolls of Fuji film when I was just a kid. He was a maintenance man for those little Fuji huts that used to be all over Milwaukee. He’d get all of the expired film and hand it out to the grand-kids. Buying and developing film is expensive for a kid but that didn’t stop me from taking a camera and point it anything and… *CLICK* but rarely did I have the money to get them developed and that was okay. There was something satisfying about that little click.

In college I took my first photography class where all of the assignments had people as their subjects. My friends and I had a blast taking photos and making up weird and, what we thought were, ‘arty’ photos. I developed those photos and, let me tell ya, they were all crap, all of them. But ya gotta start somewhere, right? My talents do not lay in portraits but rather in nature. I adore the beauty all around us whether its the concrete jungle or mother nature herself. Wherever it is I go, China, Ireland, Ethiopia, France, etc., I’ll wait until every person is out of the scene I am trying to capture in order to get that raw/pure image that I admire. I literally have a shot of the Disneyland Paris Sleeping Beauty Castle without a single soul in it. Yeah, now THAT is patience.

I’ve been avidly traveling the world for over a decade now which has garnered thousands of photos with a couple dozen of those photos adorning the walls of my home. I am constantly complimented on their beauty so I decided to release these photos on Etsy so that others can enjoy these images too!

Below is just a sampling of what I have so please head over to Etsy so see the full Best Of Collection!

Below are a few samples of the more than 60 photos up on Etsy: Ventura, CA, Alcatraz, San Francisco, Ireland, Alaska, and Italy but many more on Etsy!
